This tool segments your image into chunks of the same color, and then writes these shapes into a SVG file for you to use anywhere. The types of images you can upload depends on your browser, but every browser should support the basics like PNG, JPEG and WEBP.
SVG files have the advantage over PNG and JPEG of being fully scale-independent, and may have smaller file sizes for icon-like images. They can also be cropped relatively easy by adjusting the viewbox-parameter at the start of every SVG file. SVG files are human-readable, and theoretically human-editable, but you might want to consider a proper editing program like Inkscape.
